Racing Trophies

Custom awards for every kind of motor racing, from one race night to a full points season

Short answer

Racing trophies come in two jobs: race-day awards handed out on the podium or at the trailer after each event, and season-end awards presented at the banquet once the points are final. We make both, for auto racing, motorcycle racing, karting and the rest of motorsport, designed from your series or track logo in cut, layered and printed acrylic, wood and metal. Sponsor logos print in full color. There is no minimum order, design is free, and you approve a proof before anything is made.

Built from your series artwork

A race car trophy from a catalog is a stock figure on a column. Ours start from your artwork: the track outline, the series logo, a car or bike silhouette, the title sponsor. Because the acrylic is cut to shape and printed directly, the shape of the award can be the logo itself.

Every discipline has its own page with class-specific ideas, listed below. For how the design process runs from a sketch to a finished award, see fully custom awards. For the banquet that closes a season, start at end-of-season awards.

Race-day awards and season-end awards are different orders

Promoters often treat these as one order. They are two, with different numbers and different priorities.

Race-day versus season-end racing trophies
Race-daySeason-end
When presentedOn the podium or at the trailer, minutes after the checkered flagAt the banquet, after the points are final
Typical countTop three or top five per class, every eventChampion plus a top five or top ten per class, once a year
What matters mostConsistent look, durable for the trip home in a truckThe champion piece, names and the year
Names on the awardUsually no name; the event, class and placeUsually the name, number and class
Common choiceSemi-custom or plate awardsLayered acrylic and championship plaques

Series versus single event trophies covers how to spread a multi-round budget so the finale still stands out.

Awards by role at a racing banquet

A season-end banquet recognizes more than the drivers who won. A complete list usually has five groups:

  1. Champions. Overall and class champions. These are the championship trophies and get the most attention in the design.
  2. Points places. Second through fifth, or through tenth, in every class. Same artwork as the champion, stepping down in size.
  3. Categories. Rookie of the year, most improved, hard charger, sportsmanship, iron man. The full list with what each one means is in racing banquet award categories.
  4. Participation. Something for every racer who ran the season, often a medallion or a club pin.
  5. Crew and sponsor thank-yous. Flaggers, scorers, track crew, and a sponsor plaque for each partner that funded the year.

Sponsor logos on racing trophies

Racing runs on sponsors, and the awards are one of the few places a sponsor’s logo ends up on a shelf for years. Full-color printing means a sponsor logo reproduces in its real colors, not as a one-color engraving.

  • Put the title sponsor on every award in the series, on the footer, so it appears in every podium photo.
  • Give class sponsors the awards for their class only.
  • Keep the champion piece cleaner: the series name and the champion’s name come first, sponsor marks second.

For layout detail see sponsor branding on racing trophies, and for getting sponsors to present, and fund, their own awards see sponsor-presented awards.

What to send us

  • The series or track name, logo and any sponsor logos.
  • The class list and how many places each class receives.
  • Whether this order is race-day, season-end or both.
  • The race or banquet date the awards have to arrive before.

We send a proof of the whole set for approval before production. Ask us for the current lead time against your date, and see how far in advance to order for working back from it.

Racing Trophies FAQs

What kinds of racing do you make trophies for?

Motocross, supercross, arenacross, karting, flat track, drag racing, sprint cars, quarter midgets, BMX, ATV and quad, road racing, off-road and dirt oval stock cars, among others. Each is designed from the organizer’s own artwork.

Can a racing trophy be shaped like a car or bike?

Yes. Acrylic is cut to any outline, so the award can follow a car or bike silhouette, a track map or your series logo.

Can sponsor logos go on the trophies?

Yes. Logos print in full color, and the title sponsor can appear on every award in the series while class sponsors appear only on their class.

Do you have a minimum order for racing trophies?

No. A track can order one champion’s award or several hundred race-day pieces.

Can the same design run all season?

Yes. A design can be reordered for every round and again next year, so the awards match from the first race to the banquet.

Are acrylic racing trophies durable enough for the pits?

Acrylic is far less fragile than glass, which we do not use. It handles the trip home in a truck or trailer and wipes clean after a dusty podium.
