Off-Road Racing Trophies
Year-end awards for hare scrambles, cross country, enduro and desert series, bike and ATV
Short answer
An off-road series banquet is one of the largest award orders in motorsport. Hare scrambles, cross country, enduro and desert series run many classes for bikes and ATVs, and most award a top ten in each class at the year-end banquet, plus overall champions, rider of the year, pit crew, comeback, sportsmanship and memorial awards. We design the whole order from the series logo in printed and layered acrylic, wood and metal, with no minimum and a proof to approve first.

Why off-road banquets need a plan
A motocross race scores motos and an overall on one day. An off-road series runs long timed events across a season, often with separate bike and ATV programs, youth races in the morning and the main event in the afternoon. By the banquet that can mean thirty or forty classes, each with ten places, before a single special award is counted.
At that size the award has to work as a set. Most series use racing acrylic plaques for class places because they stack flat, print sponsor logos cleanly and look the same from first to tenth. The overall champions and rider of the year get something larger and layered.
For how this fits with the rest of the season-end night, see end-of-season awards.
What an off-road banquet usually awards

Class top ten
One design across every class, with the class name and final position on each plaque. The bulk of the order.

Overall champions
Bike overall, ATV overall, sometimes a women’s and youth overall. The largest pieces on the table.

Rider of the year
Chosen by the series, not by points. Often goes to a rider who moved up a class or carried a club.

Sponsor of the year
A wall plaque for the business that backed the series most. It goes up in their shop or showroom.

Pit crew and comeback
The crew who kept a rider running, and the racer who came back from an injury to finish the season.

Memorial awards
Named for a rider or volunteer the series lost, presented each year to someone who shares their spirit.
Counting an off-road banquet order
Most of the work is the count. Here is an example for a mid-size series with a bike and an ATV program. Your classes will differ; the method is the same.
| Group | Classes | Places | Awards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bike, adult | 18 | Top 10 | 180 |
| Bike, youth | 8 | Top 10 | 80 |
| ATV, adult and youth | 10 | Top 10 | 100 |
| Overall champions | Bike, ATV, youth bike, youth ATV | 1 each | 4 |
| Special awards | Rider of the year, sponsor, pit crew, comeback, memorial, sportsmanship | 1 each | 6 or more |
That is roughly 370 awards before participation pieces. How many awards for a banquet walks through the count line by line, and points championship awards covers ties, eligibility and how many places to award in a thin class.
Hare scrambles, cross country, enduro and desert
The four formats score differently, and the awards follow the scoring.
- Hare scrambles and cross country. Riders start by row and race a timed loop for a set length. Classes are split by skill, age and displacement, so the class list is long. Bike and ATV often have separate championships and separate banquets.
- Enduro. Riders keep time through checks and lose points for being early or late. Some series also award a best-in-class time keeper or a team trophy for clubs that ride together.
- Desert. Long loops, often with team classes and solo “iron man” riders who run the whole race alone. Team awards need one piece per rider, so count riders, not entries.
ATV programs are covered on their own on ATV and quad racing trophies. For the categories racing banquets give beyond points, see racing banquet award categories.
What goes on an off-road class award
Keep the class award short. With hundreds of pieces, every extra line is a chance for an error on one of them.

Send the final standings as a spreadsheet with one row per award: class, place, name and number. We lay out the plaques from it and proof them against it, which is far safer than retyping a few hundred names.
Memorial and perpetual awards
A series that has run for years usually has at least one award named for someone. It works best as a perpetual that stays with the series and gains a plate each year, with a keeper for the recipient. Perpetual trophies covers plate planning, and the memorial wording guide has examples that read well when presented in front of family.
Lead times depend on the order and the season, and off-road banquets tend to cluster in the same winter months. Work back from the date the awards must be in hand and ask us for the current lead time against it; how far in advance to order lists the questions to ask.
Off-Road Racing Trophies FAQs
How many awards does an off-road series banquet need?
Count classes times places, then add overall champions and special awards. A series with thirty-six classes awarding a top ten needs 360 class awards before anything else.
Can bike and ATV classes share one design?
Yes. Most series use the same artwork and change only the class line. Some add a small bike or quad silhouette so the two programs are easy to tell apart on the table.
Can you work from our final standings spreadsheet?
Yes, and we prefer it. One row per award with class, place, name and number keeps the layout and the proof accurate.
Do you make awards for team classes in desert racing?
Yes. Plan one award per rider on the team, each with the team name and class, rather than one award per entry.
Is there a minimum order?
No. A small club series with a few classes orders the same way as a large regional series.
Can next season’s awards match this season’s?
Yes. The design is kept on file and can be reordered with the year changed.

Send the class list and we will design the set
Send the series logo, the class list, how many places each class receives and the special awards. We design the full order and send a proof for approval before anything is produced.
Tell us the date the awards must be in hand and we will quote against it.
