What "fully custom" changes

Semi-custom and plate awards start from a stock body and personalise the graphic area. Fully custom starts from nothing: the silhouette, the materials, the number of layers and the way the piece stands are all decided for your event rather than selected from a catalogue.

In practice that means an award can take the shape of the thing being celebrated — a circuit outline, a boat profile, a brand mark — at whatever size the occasion warrants, rather than that shape being printed onto a rectangle.

Stainless steel	Weight and a hard, industrial edge; laser-cut to shape and often used as the structural layer
1/2" fire-polished acrylic	Depth and clarity, with polished edges that catch light; the usual choice for a dimensional main body
1/2" to 1" PVC	Substantial layers at lower weight, useful for large pieces that still have to ship
Distressed wood	Texture and a heritage feel, for events whose identity is not modern
Leather	An accent material for detailing where every other surface is hard

Most fully custom pieces combine several of these. The layering is what produces the three-dimensional result that a single printed plate cannot.

How the design process runs

You do not need to arrive with a drawing. The usual starting point is a description of the event, the budget per piece and how many are needed, plus any logos that have to appear. The design work comes back as a proof at no charge, and nothing goes into production until it is approved.

Because there is no minimum order, a fully custom build is viable for a single trophy — a series champion's award, a one-off presentation piece — as well as for a full podium set.
