Sponsor Plaques & Appreciation Awards

Thank-you plaques and awards that carry the sponsor’s logo and your event’s name

Short answer

A sponsor plaque thanks a business for backing an event, team or program, and it usually ends up on the wall where that business meets its own customers. We make sponsor plaques and freestanding sponsor awards in wood, acrylic and metal, printed in full color so the sponsor’s logo appears as they supplied it. Sets can be tiered to match title, presenting and supporting levels. There is no minimum order, and you approve a design proof before anything is produced.

Why the sponsor plaque matters more than it seems

A sponsor plaque does two jobs. It says thank you, and it hangs in a showroom, office or shop for years, telling that sponsor’s customers the business supports the community. The second job is the one sponsors care about, and it is why a good plaque makes next year’s renewal an easier conversation.

That changes how the piece should be designed. It needs the sponsor’s logo reproduced properly, your event or organization named in full so a stranger understands it, and the year. It also needs to look like something a business would choose to display.

Printed acrylic faces on wood are the usual build because they hold full-color logos accurately; see plaque awards. The photograph here shows the freestanding alternative: a shaped printed panel on a wood base with a sponsor logo plate.

Matching the award to the sponsorship level

Fully custom award icon

Title sponsor

A larger or freestanding custom piece, presented in front of the audience. One of a kind within the set.

Layered award icon

Presenting and major sponsors

A full-size plaque in the same design family, with the sponsor’s logo as the main element.

Wall plaque icon

Supporting sponsors

A smaller plaque in the same design, so every sponsor has something to hang and the levels are still clear.

Class and award sponsors

A sponsor who backed a specific trophy or class can also appear on that award, as well as receiving a plaque.

Pin and commemorative award icon

In-kind and service sponsors

The business that lent equipment, food or a venue. Thank them at the level their help was worth to you.

Medallion award icon

Multi-year sponsors

A piece that states the years of support. Long-standing sponsors notice when loyalty is acknowledged.

What goes on a sponsor plaque

  • The sponsor’s logo, from the file they supply, in their colors. Ask for vector artwork; a logo copied from a website prints poorly.
  • Their name as they trade, which may differ from the legal name on the sponsorship agreement.
  • The level, if you use levels: Title Sponsor, Presenting Sponsor, Gold Sponsor.
  • Your event or organization in full, not an abbreviation only insiders know.
  • The year or season, so a wall of them shows a history.
  • One line of impact, where you can state it truthfully.

Planning sponsor awards with the sponsorship package

The simplest sponsor recognition is the kind promised in advance. If the sponsorship package says a title sponsor receives a presentation award and every sponsor receives a plaque, the order is already defined when the last sponsor signs.

  1. List recognition as a benefit at each level in the sponsorship package.
  2. Collect each sponsor’s logo file when they commit, not the week of the event.
  3. Show sponsors their line on the proof if the name or logo is at all uncertain.
  4. Present title and major sponsor awards during the event, with a photograph they can use.
  5. Deliver the rest in person afterward. A plaque handed over at the sponsor’s premises is its own renewal meeting.

Race and series organizers will find the event side of this in event award planning, and clubs in car club awards.

Sponsors, donors and volunteers at one event

Many organizations thank all three on the same night. Keep the pieces in one design family so the event looks considered, and vary the wording: a sponsor is thanked as a partner, a donor for a gift, a volunteer for time. See donor recognition plaques and volunteer awards, or browse the Recognition Library for the full set of guides.

To start, send your own logo, the sponsor list with levels and each sponsor’s artwork. We build in acrylic, wood and metal, and we do not sell glass or crystal awards. Request a quote against your event date and we will tell you what is realistic.

Sponsor Plaques & Appreciation Awards FAQs

What is a sponsor plaque?

A plaque given to a business or individual to thank them for sponsoring an event, team or program. It normally carries the sponsor’s logo, the sponsorship level, the event or organization name and the year.

Can you print the sponsor’s logo in full color?

Yes. Faces are printed in full color, so a logo appears in the sponsor’s own colors. Vector artwork from the sponsor gives the cleanest result.

Should every sponsor get the same plaque?

Use one design family and vary the size or format by level. Every sponsor then has something to display, and the title sponsor’s piece is still clearly the largest.

When should sponsor plaques be presented?

Present title and major sponsor awards during the event, where the audience can see them. Supporting sponsor plaques are often delivered in person afterward, which also gives you a reason to visit.

Can we reorder the same design next season?

Yes. The design can be reordered, so next season’s plaques match with only the year, level or sponsor changed.

Is there a minimum number of sponsor plaques?

No. An event with one sponsor can order one plaque, and a series with thirty can order thirty in tiers.
