Customer Service Awards
Custom awards for the support, front-desk and field teams your customers actually talk to
Short answer
A customer service award recognizes an employee or team for how they treat customers: solving a hard problem, earning praise by name, or holding a high standard all year. We build them as custom acrylic awards, wood plaques and perpetual plaques with name plates, each carrying your logo, the award name, the recipient and the reason. There is no minimum order, you approve a design proof before anything is produced, and the same design can be reordered so the award looks identical every quarter or year.

What a customer service award should recognize
Service work is hard to reward well because most of it is invisible when it goes right. Nobody writes in to say a call was ordinary. So the awards that land are tied to something a manager can point at, not to a general impression of being pleasant.
- A named compliment. A customer wrote or called to praise one person. This is the easiest award to justify and the one coworkers argue with least.
- A hard case resolved. A problem that crossed departments, took persistence, and ended with the customer staying.
- Consistency. The person whose work rarely needs correcting and whose customers rarely call back with the same issue.
- Helping the team. Training new hires, writing the answers everyone else now uses, covering the difficult shift.
Put the reason on the award itself, in one line. “For resolving the Miller account” means more on a desk than “for excellence.” For how this award fits beside the rest of a company program, see corporate awards.
Award formats for service teams

Perpetual wall plaque
One plaque in the support area or lobby with a name plate added for each month or quarter. Customers and coworkers both see it.

Desk award
A freestanding acrylic award the winner keeps. Service staff spend the day at a desk or counter, so a piece that sits there gets seen.

Annual top award
A larger layered acrylic piece for the service employee of the year, presented once and built to look a step above the monthly award.

Team award
Matching pieces for a whole support team after a strong year, each with one person’s name on it.

Pins
A small pin for a lanyard or uniform, useful for front-of-house staff whose recognition should be visible to customers.

Customer Service Week pieces
A small matching item for everyone on the team during the first full week of October, alongside the individual awards.
Award names that work for service teams
The name sets the tone and tells everyone else what the company values. Plain names age better than clever ones, and a name that states the behavior is easier to judge against.
- Customer Service Excellence Award: the standard annual or quarterly title.
- Customer’s Choice: decided by customer compliments or survey comments.
- First-Call Hero: for the person who most often solves it the first time.
- Above and Beyond: for one specific act, awarded when it happens rather than on a schedule.
- Service Team of the Year: for a location, shift or desk.
- Rookie of the Year: for the strongest first-year agent.

What goes on the award
Four parts: the award name, the recipient’s name as they use it, one line saying why, and the company with the period. If a customer’s own words earned the award, a short phrase from the compliment can be the reason line, with the customer’s permission and without their name.

Choosing fairly when service is hard to measure
A service award loses its value the moment the team thinks it goes to whoever the manager likes. A few habits protect it.
- Write the criteria down and share them before the first award, not after a dispute.
- Use more than one input: customer comments, peer nominations and a manager’s view together.
- Do not decide on speed alone. Awarding the shortest calls teaches people to end calls.
- Include back-office and field staff, who serve customers without ever answering the main line.
- Say the reason out loud when you present it, so everyone hears what earned it.
Coworker nominations suit service teams well, because agents see each other’s work more closely than managers do. See peer-to-peer recognition for how to run them, and the Recognition Library for the rest of our guides.
Ordering for one site or many
Tell us the award name, how often it is given, how many locations take part and whether winners keep a piece of their own. We build in acrylic, wood and metal, and we do not sell glass or crystal awards. A company with several branches can have the same design sent to each, with the location name changed, so the award means the same thing everywhere. Request a quote against the date of your presentation and we will tell you what is realistic.
Customer Service Awards FAQs
What is a customer service award?
An award given to an employee or team for the way they serve customers, such as resolving a difficult case, earning compliments by name or keeping a high standard over a year. It usually carries the award name, the recipient, a one-line reason and the company name.
How often should a customer service award be given?
Monthly or quarterly awards keep recognition close to the work, and an annual award marks the best of the year. Many companies run both: a perpetual plaque for the regular award and a larger individual award once a year.
Can customers choose the winner?
Yes. A customer’s choice award based on written compliments or survey comments is common. Combine it with a manager’s review so that staff who handle complaints, and so receive fewer compliments, are not left out.
When is Customer Service Week?
Customer Service Week is observed in the first full week of October each year. Many companies present their annual service awards during it.
Can the award carry our company logo and colors?
Yes. Send the logo and any brand colors, and we will lay the award out on a design proof for your approval before anything is produced.
Can we order a single award?
Yes. There is no minimum order, so one award for one employee is a normal order.

Send the award names and we will design them
Send the award names, how many you need, the wording and your logo. We lay everything out on a design proof, and you can change anything before it is produced.
Tell us when the award will be presented and we will quote against that date.
