Basketball Trophies
Custom awards for leagues, tournaments and end-of-season banquets, designed around your team’s own colors and logo
Short answer
A basketball season or tournament usually needs a matching award for every player on the winning team, a smaller set for the runner-up, and a handful of individual awards such as MVP, defensive player and most improved. We design them from your team or league artwork and build them in acrylic, wood and metal, cut to shape and printed in full color. These are designed awards, not catalog figures on a column. There is no minimum order, and you approve a design proof before anything is produced.

A set that looks like your program
Most basketball awards are ordered by a coach, a league administrator or a parent on the booster club, and most of them start from the same place: a catalog page of gold figures in a shooting pose. Those do the job. What they cannot do is look like your team.
Our awards start from the other end. Send the team logo, the colors and the award list, and the design is built from those: a layered acrylic piece cut to the shape of your crest, a ball, a hoop or the tournament mark, with the award name and the season printed on it.
For a single showpiece such as a championship award, see custom awards. When the same artwork has to cover a whole roster, semi-custom awards put your design on a stock body.
Basketball awards by type

Champions
One matching award per player, plus the coaches. The team name, the title and the season go on every piece.

Runner-up and consolation
The same design a size down. In a bracket tournament, a consolation champion award keeps the Sunday morning games worth playing.

Most valuable player
The one individual award every program gives. For a tournament, an all-tournament team of five is the usual companion to it.

Defensive player and sixth man
The awards that recognize work the scorebook does not show: the stopper, and the first player off the bench.

Shooting contests
Free-throw and three-point contest winners at a tournament, camp or fundraiser. Small pieces or medallions suit them.

Coach and team parent
A plaque from the team to the coach, and a thank-you for the parent who ran the schedule.
A season award list you can copy
This is a full list for a school or club team’s banquet. A recreational league will use the top half; a tournament director will use the first three lines once per division.
| Award | How many | What goes on it |
|---|---|---|
| Champions | One per player and coach | Team name, “Champions,” league or tournament, season |
| Runner-up | One per player and coach | Same design, smaller |
| Most valuable player | 1 | Award name, player name, season |
| Defensive player of the year | 1 | As above |
| Sixth man or sixth player | 1 | As above |
| Most improved | 1 | As above |
| Free-throw or three-point contest | 1 each | Event name and contest; often made without a name |
| Coach’s award | 1 | Award name, player name and a short reason |

Counting pieces for a roster
Basketball rosters are small, which makes matching team awards practical. Count every player who dressed during the season, not only the starters, then add the head coach, assistants and a team manager if you have one. A team award that misses the manager is the mistake people remember.
For a tournament, multiply by divisions. A weekend event with boys’ and girls’ brackets at several age groups can need a dozen champion sets, all in one design with the division name changed. Send the bracket list with your quote request so the set is designed once.

Every player, earned awards and a perpetual
Younger divisions often give every player an award at the end of the season; older ones give earned awards only. Both are reasonable, and participation awards looks at where the line usually falls. If seniors are leaving the program, senior night gift ideas covers what to give them.
A league or a school program can also keep one award that stays in the gym and gains a name each year, for the league champion or the season MVP. Perpetual trophies covers how many years of plates to plan for.
What to send us
- The team, league or tournament name and its logo, in the best file you have.
- Team colors, if they are not obvious from the logo.
- The award list with quantities, including divisions for a tournament.
- Player names for individual awards, spelled as they appear on the roster.

Basketball Trophies FAQs
How many trophies does a basketball team need?
One per player who was on the roster during the season, plus coaches and a team manager. Individual awards such as MVP and defensive player are ordered on top of that.
Do you sell basketball figure trophies?
Our awards are designed from your team’s artwork and built in acrylic, wood and metal, so each one is specific to your program. If you are looking for a standard figure on a column, a catalog supplier is the better fit.
What individual awards do basketball teams give?
Most valuable player, defensive player, sixth man, most improved and a coach’s award are the common five. Tournaments add an all-tournament team and contest winners.
Can each division in a tournament have its own award?
Yes. The usual approach is one design for the whole tournament with the division name changed on each set, so the awards table looks consistent.
Can a single MVP award be ordered on its own?
Yes. There is no minimum order, so one award is fine.
Can the award be cut to the shape of our logo?
Yes. Acrylic is cut to shape and printed in full color, so the piece can follow the outline of a crest, a ball or the tournament mark.

Send the roster and the logo
Tell us the team or league, the award list and the date of the banquet or final. We design the set and send a proof for approval.
One MVP award or sets for every division: both are ordinary orders here.
