Trophies & Awards in Carson City, Reno & Lake Tahoe

A trophy maker with its own shop in Carson City, serving northern Nevada and the Tahoe basin

Short answer

MX Trophies is a trophy and award manufacturer at 4010 Technology Way, Suite A, in Carson City, Nevada, next to the Carson City Airport. We design and build custom trophies, plaques, medallions and pins in our own shop for customers in Carson City, Reno, Sparks, Lake Tahoe, Minden, Gardnerville and Dayton, and we ship to the rest of the country. The shop is open Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 7 to 11 AM. There is no minimum order, and you approve a design proof before anything is produced.

First, second and third place awards on wood bases with printed acrylic faces and cut metal numerals

A manufacturer, not a storefront with a catalog

Most searches for a trophy shop end at a counter with a catalog of stock figures. This is a different kind of shop. The awards are designed for each customer and then printed, cut and assembled here in Carson City, which is why the same building that supplies national racing series also makes a single retirement plaque for an office down the road.

Areas we are closest to

Carson City sits between Reno and Lake Tahoe, which puts the shop within a drive of most of northern Nevada’s towns and the Nevada and California sides of the lake.

  • Carson City: the shop is in town, on the airport side.
  • Reno and Sparks: north of us through Washoe Valley.
  • Lake Tahoe: Incline Village, Stateline and South Lake Tahoe to the west.
  • Carson Valley: Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa to the south.
  • Dayton, Virginia City and Fernley: to the east and northeast.

If you would rather not make the drive, nothing about an order requires it. Most customers, local ones included, send their details by email or the order form and approve the proof from their desk. If you want to collect an order in person instead of having it shipped, ask when you request the quote.

How a local order works

  1. Tell us what you need. Call, text, email or stop by with the award names, how many, the wording and any logo.
  2. We design it. You receive a design proof by email and can change anything on it.
  3. You approve it. Once the artwork is approved, we send a sales order to confirm.
  4. We build it here. The awards are printed, cut and assembled in the Carson City shop.

If the awards are for a date, say so at the start and we will quote against it. The full steps are on the process page, and ordering trophies online covers what to have ready.

What we make, and what we do not

We build in acrylic, wood and metal: custom-shaped layered acrylic awards printed in full color, wood plaques with printed acrylic faces, acrylic plaques, medallions on neck ribbons, pins, and perpetual trophies and plaques with metal name plates. We do not sell glass or crystal awards.

If you are looking for engraving on an item you already own, call first to ask whether it is something we can do; our work is building new awards. To see the range, start at our products or browse the gallery. The Recognition Library has guides to choosing and wording awards for companies, teams and community groups.
